The Colonial Wedding

June 15, 2015  •  2 Comments

This inspiration wedding shoot was made at the heart of the old town of Colonia del Sacramento, the oldest town in Uruguay. A place that belonged to Portugal and Spain, now holds paths from both colonialist countries: houses, tiles, streets, that are not yet forgotten.
The romantic getaway in Uruguay. And from all the places around, we chose the Posada del Virrey hotel for our shoot. A colonial house from the 1700`s with original walls and furniture. We didn’t need much to decorate our shoot nor to illustrate an ideal and romantic period in history.
The dress was Hand-stitched by the designer Luciana de los Santos, from Montevideo, Uruguay. Her inspiration on creating this particular dress was the movie ‘The royal Tenembaums’, more specially the female character, Margot Tenenbaum. On her own words: “After researching the character I decided to take a few concepts from it: enigmatic, delicate, childish and elegant, were some of the concepts that inspired me”. She studied at the Center of Design in Montevideo.
Our makeup artist, Ivana Chevanton, responsible of Bette Make, who is an expert on social, wedding and ‘quinceañeras’ make up, travelled with us to Colonia to create a natural yet elegant look on Josefina, our model.
We do hope you like our Colonial inspire shoot wedding in Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay. Most probably we will share some pictures of this amazing UNESCO protected town in the future.
