Glow: the Southafrican wedding

**ENGLISH**

I met Jon a few years ago, when we were the new members of the photography team on a cruise ship. We instantly became friends, partners in crime: we were eager to see the world, to meet new people, to create memories. You see, what happens on ships is that you meet most of the crew, but it is always on rotation, so you might become best friend with some person from an exotic country that you will never see again, and then that friendship vanishes.

Well, the friendship that Jon and I have it didn't vanished. Social media allowed me to be part of his love story with Megan, I was an expectant reader every time he sent me an email or facebook message telling me how much he liked her, and when they finally started dating, he was so precise on his story, his words described how much in love he was.

And then he told me they were getting married! of all things, I had a place on that wedding as well! How could I say no? How, in the world, was I gonna put a whole ocean and a continent as an excuse to not be present on one of my best friends weddings?

So I bought the tickets, I packed my bags and off to South Africa I went.

Travelling has a particular charm, especially when you travel alone: you get to meet amazing people. And this time was no different. To see Jon again, to see the way he lives, with his bride-to-be, all his plans. To see him waiting for me at the train station, it was like time didn't go by. He introduced me to his family and friends, and they adopted me as one of them right away. A friend of the bride, an English, funny and world-traveler guy called Pete was my travel buddy, and together we went to see and cuddle lions, down to gold mines and off to Soweto.

Here are just a few shots we took at Jon and Meg's wedding, that beautiful couple that was shining and glowing thought the whole evening. The next day when I met them I asked if the wedding was what they expected, and Meg said: "it was so much more!". And that, I believe, is how every bride should feel once they decide to promise to love someone for the rest of their lives.

To them, all the best of the luck, they deserve it.
